I don’t know why I compare things in terms of the cost of a pizza….maybe because it’s my favorite food, or maybe because a pizza is something anyone can relate to. Anyway, this is a really cool, time-saving tool for anyone who has wanted to make cool Web 2.0 graphics but doesn’t have the graphic design skills or tools.
I personally own several graphic design programs, including Adobe Photoshop. I’ll let you in on a little secret…I’m really bad at designing graphics. At least, I’m bad at it compared to the designers who are are using all of those cool Web 2.0 design techniques like glosses, gradients, shading and shadows. I’ve used all of those techniques but I never seem to get it right.
Well, if you are like me and are “graphically challenged” and you don’t want to spend a fortune on a new logo or some tricked-out order buttons, your answer is here. I’ve been playing with this nifty little thing for the past hour now and it is SO COOL!
It’s called “Quick Web Creations” and it’s a graphics generator. First you choose whether you’re making a text graphic or a box graphic. Then you choose your font, then your color, then if you want the background to be diagonally striped, then your shadow, gloss and gradients. As you make each change you can see how your graphic changes in response to your choices.
I used it for five minutes and literally made a text graphic logo that I would have paid $20 or more to have made for me….and that’s if I found a designer who was willing to give me a deal!
When you create your graphics you can save them as .gif, .jpg or .png format and they are saved to a dashboard of your created graphics. You can choose to share your artistic brilliance with others using the tool or keep them to yourself.
Another cool feature is that when you browse through the gallery of graphics made by others, you can copy the style choices they used and apply them to your creations. It’s kind of like looking over someone’s shoulder in class and copying their notes….really, it can save a ton of time!
The best part? And you are simply going to say “NO WAY!” when I tell you how much it costs. Ready? It’s only $6.97.
Did you catch that? Yep, $6.97 TOTAL. Not per month, not per year….just one time.
Just today I was trying to find someone to make an ecover for a book I’m writing and was astonished at how much they wanted to charge for the logo alone…$69, $99 and up! I literally made a draft of my logo in less than ten minutes already!
Normally I don’t go crazy for something like this, but I’m all about efficiency and I know there are many AutomaticMoms out there who could use this tool and really save some time and money. I’ll be honest, I’m a proud affiliate for the product now, but I’m telling you that if all you did was create one Web 2.0-styled logo or button the tool will have more than paid for itself.
Seriously, this thing rocks —->>> Download “Quick Web Creations” Here
Edited to add: Here is a sample of a graphic that I created with this awesome tool. I made this in 74 seconds…yes, I timed it and yes, I’m a nerd.
